Why engagement matters
In January 2013 the government will publish its mid-term review, outlining achievements to date and the priorities for the second half of the Parliament. In a speech to MPs last week Nick Clegg, Deputy Prime Minister, said: “I think it’s right that at this half way point we judge ourselves against our own benchmarks. In some areas we’ll be able to show that we have overachieved and in other areas where we have not achieved as much as we would have liked.”
The government’s mid-term review, and Nick Clegg’s comments, highlights the importance of engagement and the value gained from setting time aside to conduct an audit, to reflect on what has been achieved and to focus on what needs to happen next. Our experience shows that when conducting an engagement survey there is real benefit in reviewing internal and external benchmarks to identify the areas of primary focus for action planning. Combing benchmarking with a robust engagement model, key driver and verbatim comment analysis can ensure action is targeted and delivers meaningful results.
At Getfeedback we offer a range of user-friendly engagement surveys and we can help a management team to interpret the results - without bias - and to create an action plan to understand the best ways to improve the findings from their engagement survey.
